Chinese President Xi Jinping says that Taiwan is an internal matter of China, Taiwan is the first red line that should not be crossed in US-China relations.

The presidents of the US and China met in the Indonesian island of Bali in which various issues including bilateral relations were discussed.

According to Chinese media, in the meeting, Chinese President Xi Jinping assured US President Biden that the question of Taiwan is at the center of China’s core interests, and anyone’s attempt to separate Taiwan from China would be a violation of the fundamental rights of the Chinese people.

The Chinese president said that Taiwan is an internal matter of China, Taiwan is the first red line that should not be crossed in US-China relations. It is hoped that the US will implement its words by adhering to the One China policy.

According to the Chinese media, the Chinese president further said that the two countries should compete to learn from each other in order to improve themselves and develop together. Or should not try to change its system.

Xi Jinping said that global recovery after Corona, dealing with climate change and solving regional problems through US-China cooperation are in mutual interest. China is opposed to subjecting trade and economic relations to politics and weapons.

The Chinese president expressed deep concern over the situation in Ukraine and supported the resumption of Russia-Ukraine talks.
