The condition imposed on authorized dealers to take advance payment of import payments is being abolished from January 2.

In a statement issued by the State Bank, it has been said that authorized dealers should approach their customers for import payments, authorized dealers should make payments keeping in mind the customer’s risk profile and market liquidity.

According to the State Bank, priority should be given to essential commodities, energy, export sector raw materials, agricultural inputs, imports on one-year loan and payment of export projects nearing completion.

The state bank has also instructed authorized dealers to make payments on priority basis.
