
During December, the country’s trade deficit increased by 2.36 percent, exports by 3.64 percent and imports by 0.41 percent, the Bureau of Statistics has released monthly trade data.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, on a monthly basis, domestic exports in December stood at 2 billion 304 million dollars, while imports were recorded at 5 billion 161 million dollars.
According to the statistics, the trade deficit decreased by 40.68 percent in December on annual basis, imports decreased by 31.91 percent and exports by 16.64 percent during the month of December on annual basis.
A decrease of 32.63 percent was recorded in the trade deficit from July to December, during six months imports were 31 billion 382 million dollars with a decrease of 22.63 percent while exports were 14 billion 249 million dollars with a decrease of 5.79 percent.
