India’s dream of winning the Hockey World Cup was dashed as New Zealand defeated them in the knockout match and kicked them out of the tournament.
In the knockout stage of the FIH Hockey World Cup 2023, New Zealand defeated India 4-5 in the penalty shootout.
The match between the two teams was tied with 3-3 goals at the scheduled time, but a penalty shoot-out was resorted to to make the match fruitful.
After the victory against India, New Zealand made it to the quarter-finals of the Hockey World Cup.
