Pakistan’s economy is on a ventilator, but despite this, luxury goods continue to be imported indiscriminately.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, luxury vehicles and motorcycles worth more than one billion dollars were imported from foreign countries during the last 6 months.
According to the report, the import of cars increased by 12% and the import of motorcycles by 438% and 71% on a monthly basis.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, aircraft, ships and boats worth 87.6 million dollars were also brought to Pakistan. Apart from this, mobile phones worth more than 362.8 million dollars were imported.
According to the report, other export sectors including medicines and textiles are also deprived of LC opening for raw materials.
