The fear of conflict between the Indian community and the Sikhs increased in Melbourne, Australia.

A referendum in favor of Khalistan is being held in Melbourne on Sunday, January 29, which is being organized on the platform of an organization called Sikhs for Justice.

Posters and banners put up in favor of Khalistan Referendum were torn down. The organization campaigning for the referendum has blamed the Indian government for tearing down the posters and banners.

The Hindu community claimed that slogans of ‘Dead to India’ and ‘Long live Khalistan’ were posted outside the Hari Krishna and Shri Shiva Vishnu temples.

Gurpatwand Singh Pannu, General Secretary of the Sikh for Justice Organization, said that vandalism in Melbourne has nothing to do with the Khalistan Referendum, the Sikh community is expressing its opinion in the Khalistan Referendum.

According to the Sikh Forests Organization, the Indian government’s claim that the Khalistan referendum does not have the support of the Sikhs is not true.

Gurpatwand Singh Pannu said that the purpose of the Khalistan referendum is to approve the demand of independent Khalistan from the United Nations.
