The third two-day “Divay Film Festival 2023” will begin in Karachi from tomorrow. Films made by Pakistani filmmakers on various topics will be screened in the festival.
During the two-day “Divey Film Festival 2023” organized from February 17 at a private hotel in Karachi in collaboration with the Foundation of Art Divey and Karachi Literature Festival, human emotions such as love and separation, shocks of loss, old age and the search for self will be discussed. Films covering themes such as climate change and unexpected joys will be screened, along with engaging stories.
During the two-day film festival, various film screenings will be held along with discussion sessions with film directors.
On the first day of the festival, on February 17, filmmaker Mehreen Jabbar’s ‘Beeda Dharq’, Amna Maqbool Hussain and Benish Sarfaraz’s ‘Sinf-e Tal’, Irfan Noor’s ‘The Land of My Forefathers’, Maryam Majid’s ‘A Night with Noorjehan’ Syed Munib. Kazmi’s other films including ‘Dayal Among the Spirits’ will be screened.
On the second day of Dewe Film Festival 2023 on February 18, filmmakers Matthew Paley and Sebastian Feehan’s ‘Lahoti’, Ali Mehdi and Souch Videos’ ‘Quetta’s Old Men’s Garden’, Ali Mehdi’s ‘Stay Tuned’, Ahmed Sameer’s ‘Delirium’. ‘ and Nauman Khalid’s film ‘One Way Glass’ will be screened.
According to the festival management, Foundation of Art Dewey provides a local and international platform to Pakistani arts and artists at the editorial level to introduce Pakistani art, culture and narrative to the international level.
According to the Foundation of Art Dewe, the purpose of “Dewe Film Festival” is to encourage filmmakers by covering animated films, including short films, documentaries and feature films, made by independent Pakistani filmmakers.
According to the Foundation of Art Dewey, after the “Dewey Film Festival 2023” held at the Karachi Literature Festival on February 17 and 18, the festival will also be held in Lahore and Islamabad in the next phase.
