In the 18th match of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8, Lahore Qalandars defeated Quetta Gladiators by 17 runs.

Quetta won the toss and decided to field and Lahore playing first gave Quetta a target of 149 runs to win.

In the match held in Lahore, the team of Lahore Qalandars was dismissed by scoring 148 runs in 19.2 overs. Sikandar Raza 71, Rashid Khan 21, Shaheen Afridi 16 and Abdullah Shafiq scored 15 runs.

Hussain Talat scored 6 runs and Fakhar Zaman scored 4 runs. Tahir Baig, Sam Billings and David Vissa scored 2 runs apiece. Haris Rauf was dismissed for zero.

At one point, 7 players were out for 50 runs of Lahore. After that, Sikandar Raza played an unbeaten innings of 71 runs with the help of 3 sixes and 8 fours to take the team’s score to 148.

In reply, Lahore Qalandars were limited to 131 runs in the allotted overs. Quetta scored 131 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.

On behalf of Quetta, Will Asmead scored 32 runs off 25 balls and captain Sarfaraz Ahmed scored 27 runs off 28 balls. Sarfaraz remained not out but could not win the team.

Haris Rauf dismissed 3 players and Rashid Khan dismissed two players.

It should be noted that Lahore Qalandars are at the top with 10 points after playing 5 out of 6 matches and the way to reach the playoffs is paved.

Quetta Gladiators have won only one out of 6 matches and are at the bottom position.
