
The US has expressed regret over Pakistan’s non-participation in the Democracy Summit.
The spokesperson of the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vedant Patel, has said in a press briefing that there is a deep security partnership with Pakistan, and they keep talking about democracy, human rights, freedom of expression and religion.
He said that Pakistan has the authority to take decisions regarding the summit, regretting Pakistan’s non-participation in the Democracy Summit, but will continue to work with Pakistan.
The spokesperson of the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the US and Pakistan work together on many issues.
It should be noted that the Democracy Summit continued from March 29 to 30.
