Captain Babar Azam and fast bowler Shaheen Afridi have termed the Ramadan Sports Series starting in Lahore as a wonderful platform for young players.

Pakistan cricket team’s camp is going on at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore these days to prepare for the series against New Zealand.

After intensive training in the camp, captain Babar Azam and fast bowler Shaheen Afridi arrived at Mini Hockey Stadium to participate in the opening ceremony of the Ramadan Mubarak Sports Series on the special invitation of Sports Advisor Punjab Wahab Riaz.

Talking about the Ramadan sports series, Babar Azam said that hockey, cricket, football and other sports are being promoted.

Babar Azam said that these sports were not given attention for a long time, with such events our sports will regain their place.

He said that there is a lot of talent in Pakistan for which such events are necessary to develop, this is the best opportunity for young players.

Babar Azam further said that playing with senior players will improve the game.

On the other hand, fast bowler Shaheen Afridi said that the credit of the series goes to the Punjab government and Wahab Riaz.

Shaheen Afridi said that in addition to hockey, other sports are also included in the event, from such an event our youth will join in sports.

He said that hockey is our national sport, it should come forward, the players are getting money with which they will bear their expenses.

The fast bowler further said that hopefully this will take our hockey forward and get good players.
