
The hosting of the Asia Cup will not be shifted from Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given a clear message to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The Pakistan Cricket Board has taken a strict stance on the issue of the Asia Cup scheduled in Pakistan this year and made it clear that the hosting of the tournament will not be shifted from Pakistan and no other formula will be accepted for the matches of India except the hybrid model.
According to the sources, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Najam Sethi has discussed important issues related to Asia Cup, World Cup and Champions Trophy during a meeting with Asian and international cricket officials in Dubai.
According to sources, PCB has given a clear message that if India will not play in Pakistan, then Pakistan can also decide not to participate in ICC or ACC events in India.
According to sources, Pakistan had suggested a hybrid model of holding India’s matches in Asia Cup at a neutral venue and the rest of the matches in Pakistan, however, India also started politics on this but could not change Pakistan’s position.
According to the sources, India including Sri Lanka and Bangladesh raised objections on Pakistan’s proposed hybrid model that it will be very hot there, but the Pakistan Cricket Board did not accept this objection, however, every option is under consideration.
